New kettle coming?

Would you be willing to fork over an additional $100 to $200 to cover the material costs for something like that?

I most certainly would. I think you'd find that most people would be willing to pay the higher cost for better materials. I'd much rather be giving the money I spend on after market upgrades to Weber instead of third party vendors, to be quite honest.

Me too!

It would be great to get a Performer with all stainless construction. A charcoal grill for a lifetime. Maybe with a 26" or, available in 22" or 26".

I don't know the Weber gasser lineup, but I think there are (or have been) fully stainless gassers. It would be nice to see charcoal finally get this treatment.

Kettle, not kamado.

Lets say if the price for the top model is $899 I really don't see people willing to pay another $100 to $200 for the stainless but its a specialty item not for someone like me who has a performer with gas assist which you can argue you don't need but I would never buy a performer without it, I also have a smoke, sns and stainless baskets. Now to me its competition for the WSK for less money a lot less money with more stuff but that's just my opinion. If you're a heavy charcoal user which I am not I don't think that the price for all that stuff for $899 is a bad deal.

I think the idea of it is excellent and it has the potential to be something great but sadly the subpar materials/build quality seems to be the direction Weber is trending. I understand though that the majority of consumers just want something shiny and new at a lower price point. Most people won't know or care what materials were used in the build process and the thought of how long it might last probably doesn't even cross their mind. Very few things these days are built to last so I think that's what most people have come to expect or settle for. I'm sure Weber wants to maximize profits and sell as many units as possible so I definitely can't blame them for their approach from a business standpoint.

I think there are still several of us that miss George Stephen and his Weber-Stephen products original design approach. "He only wanted to sell quality products…..that the Weber name stood for the best you could get."
