I've been looking for a gas grill from Craigslist for a while now, I finally found an old Genesis Silver for $65 today and brought it home:

Decided to try it out.

Meats en place:

Not ready to decide how much I like it yet - the bacon lit up pretty good (flare-up) and was a little overcooked so I decided it (gas) might not be as forgiving.....the taste is good but....anyway I'll have to try it out before I decide

Looks great Clint. I could sure eat one of those babies, especially if I got 4 PBR's too! Looks like you could have a swim meet in your pool. Very nice.

Very nice score and meal Clint!!! Sounds like a pretty good price too, do you have to do anything to it?

Thanks man. I just cleaned out the dripping tray and ran it on high for 20 minutes.... I guess the flavorizer bars burn /rust through, no signs of that...there's a tiny bit of rust on the back of the frame but not a big deal. I thought the flames looked a little weak but it maxes that low thermometer pretty quick.. The grates looks good. I think I just have some cleaning to do.

I don't feel bad about it at all - I was looking at Weber Q3200s for $399, regretted missing a weberQ3200 platinum for $275, looking @ amazon etc. Other than the ignitor and figuring out what to do with the grease catcher....and a little ajax....there's really not much it needs

Gassers are great for those 5 minuet cooks where you don't want to wait a half hour for the coals to get hot. Or where I live they restrict the use of charcoal during the fire season, so no gas grill no grilling.
