need tenderloin tips

I am strongly considering smoking a whole beef tenderloin this weekend. I see very few posts about this. Chris has his experience in cooking topics and it is good.

Any other thoughts? Is it worth the money?
 
I've grilled whole beef tenderloins the last two Christmases and I did one on a rotisserie. I rubbed them down with EVOO and seasoned them with Montreal Steak rub. They were great but tenderloin isn't the most flavorful cut. I have one in the freezer that I think I will smoke this year and do a quick sear at the end.

I've had a lot better luck with standing rib roast. Much more flavorful cut of meat - and usually about half the price of tenderloin!

The party just winded down and I can not tell enough how INCREDIBLE the tenderloin was. I followed Chris' directions in Cooking Topics. Everyone was amazed!!! Actually, I was too.
