Need help in making a backyard Weber Sanctuary

Didn't know how to phrase it but figure my title should attract people to this thread. I've run out of space in both of my properties' garages to hold weber grills. My restoration plans have stalled since I have started to return back to the office. I picked up a free weber this weekend and had no choice but to put it in my backyard uncovered. I plan on taking the manifold out and take the frame apart. But my question is can I leave firebox and hood outside uncovered for four seasons. I'm hoping the answer is no so this process stops. But if not, I'm sure I'll eventually have a topic of conversation in my yard when people come over.

I saw the first minute of the video and turned it off. It put my stash to shame... and made me depressed.

Don't let that video get you down! There is still plenty of time and plenty of old Webers out there! You can grow your stash with a little dedication and gumption!

The aluminum firebox isn’t likely to sustain any serious wear for being left out. The porcelain hood, on the other hand, is possibly subject to fading and it is still steel underneath. A chip in the porcelain, such as an edge, can be exploited by rust. If you could store your clean hoods inside that would clearly be better.

Don’t let Bruce’s empire get you down. I look at it with gratitude. I can show my wife there is at least one person on earth with more grill stuff than me! Bruce’s collection is even more amazing when seen in person!

Not only are you guys making me feel self conscious, but I am also feeling really guilty as I really haven't done any rehab work for nearly two weeks now. Things have been busy, I just got back from a camping trip and these 90 degree days with max humidity are killing me.
I hope to move a few of those out of the coral by the end of the summer. I at least need to get out there and kick out the mice. LOL.

No need to feel guilty - that would be MY domain. You have a well organized collection of parts and benefitted from the "haul of the century" when that guy honored your great work by bequeathing his enormous grill inventory to you when he decided he didn't want to do it anymore. That's something to be proud of!(y) You will move them all in good time.

I just hope I can get my own act together and, in between goofy collecting, sell enough grills to at minimum pay for my addiction🤪!
