My WSM is out of round

I was smoking some chicken last week. When I attempted to flip over a piece, the top grate slid off the clip and tilted down into the lower grate... That is not supposed to happen!! Once the grill was cool enough to handle, I took a better look and a few measurements. Sure enough, the center tube is out of round by half an inch when measured clip to clip. Weber quality has always been top notch, so I was surprised by this. Has anyone else seen this issue?

No worries! This is a Weber product and their customer service is awesome. A new center section is being send to me under warranty.

This comes up every now and again. On mine, the charcoal bowl was actually the one that was slightly out of round. But like you mentioned, Weber sent me a new one, no questions asked.

Yeah, don't really need a new one. A gentle bear hug will get it back in shape. Make sure to wear an old shirt. Don't ask how I know this.

Yep I am impressed with their customer service. I received my New 18.5" this week & it was seriously damaged & they didn't even hesitate to send me a new center section. Just glad I have the 14.5" to fall back on till then.
