my new trick (post smoke cleanup)

I tried something new this time with my water pan that made cleanup pretty easy. I used one sheet of HD foil and lined the pan loosely, then poked some holes in the bottom of the foil. After I was done with my smoke session, I pulled out the water pan and set aside. This morning when everything was nice and cool (all the fat had solidified) I slowly pulled up on the foil and let the wate rdrain out the holes in the bottom, all the grease stayed inside of the foil, I wadded it up and threw it in the trash and dumped the water in the bushes. Easiest cleanup for me so far, my fingers barely got dirty.

You have to be careful if you're wrapping the foil around to the underside of the pan. If you poke holes in it, the water can wick out under the foil and drip into the fire. If I foil my pan (and I always do...) I lay the middle of the foil into the inside of the pan and wrap it around to the outside. I use 2 layers of HD foil, making sure not to tear it or have any seams in the pan.
