My Lil 22.5" Mods casters, shelf...

A few mods I came up with out of necessity of course.
-1st some casters from Home Depot so I can move it relatively easy
-2nd hole in the door (since I didn’t want to drill through the enamel finish) for probe thermometer with high temp grommet and plug from McMaster Carr
-3rd shelf to mount my probe thermometer. ½” oak with two angle brackets. I used wood screws for the wood shelf then ground down the excess. Stainless screws for door
-4th picked up some off brand high temp self stick gasket material from local green egg dealer to seal door better
I would have included pics but I can't seem to figure out how.

I think I figured out how to post my pics

I'm afraid you're going to have problems with heat radiating to the thermometer. That looks awful close to me. I keep my DX2 and Maverick mounted a good 7 - 8" away, and I can still feel some warmth on the mounting bracket. Might want to keep tabs on that.

Thanks, I will keep an eye out for that but, so far it hasn't been too bad.

No doubt the stock aluminum door helps, but if you ever go to the SS Cajun Door, the Thermo will definitely be looking like a wet Wicked Witch.
