My Kettle Went To A Birhday Party!

My step dad turned 80 last week. He really didn't want a party, but mom told him otherwise! She also asked me to make burgers. Okay! I'm on it!
Mom wanted a bunch of burgers, just in case, so I skipped my usual blend and just used sirloin and chuck.

I wound up making about 30 burgers and Pammi made pasta salad.
I put the kettle and tables and chairs in the back of my truck and headed east.

Mom has one of those metal carports, so we set up tables and chairs under that and the kettle beside it. Winn's sister and his daughter were there, along with several neighbors. This is the birthday boy and hs daughter, Connie.

It was finally to to cook and eat! Burgers and dogs, with Pammi's salad and chips.

All in all, a good party! Best of all, my step sister and I did a beer swap! She brought Ohio beer and I brought NC beer. I now have several Ohio beers in my fridge. Yes!

I an now in CLT for a day (downtown at Marriott Courtyard). Leave to go home in a few hours after lunch with my daughter who is in town from Nicaragua. She lives there with her husband and kids doing mission work.

CLT downtown is as beautiful as ever.
