My "I Had Nothing To Do" BBQ Sauce Recipe

As the name indicates, I was sitting around the house, bored, with nothing to do, so I decided to experiment and make a BBQ sauce. I have to be totally honest here, this is probably the best sauce I have ever made in my life. It goes great on pork and chicken. It is not the typical heavy, thick sauce at all. I'll actually be using for the first time on some bb ribs this evening. Pics to follow. Here you go...
  • 2 cups ketchup
  • 1 rsp smoked paprika
  • 1 tsp dill weed
  • 1 tsp celery salt
  • 1 tsp Worstershire
  • 2 cups of water
  • 1/2 tsp cumin
  • 1 tbsp garlic powder
  • 1 tbsp black pepper
  • 1/2 cup tart cherry preserves (not jelly)
  • 1/4 cup white vinegar
Add all ingredients in a medium size pot and cook on medium heat until it begins to bubble. Lower heat and simmer for an additional 5-7 minutes. Remove from stove and let cool. Makes about 24-26 ounces.
