My Genesis 1000 project

Done and done. Stickers on the way, and a new pointer on, but it’s red. I was obstinate that I didn’t want to buy 50 white ones on Amazon, so I wasted a bunch of gas going to 3 hardware stores and a train hobby store (they’re used on toggles). So it’s red for now. I did pick up 4
black ones to go on the bottom shelf ends, so there’s that.
Did a final mock- up in the basement before full assembly so I could make sure I had everything I needed before I took the frame, box, manifold, etc, etc. upstairs to the garage (we have stairs that go directly from the basement to the garage).
Also, I needed to get the parts out of my office and the lid out of the front living room. Keeping family happy lol.
Plus, my son is starting to get excited at seeing it coming together.
Does the hanging warming basket go either in the front of the lid, or in the back, depending on if you have the warming rack?
If it’s an either/ or, I kinda dig the warming rack idea.

And the power just went out. Storm. 🙄

Every. Single. Photo. Sorry guys

All the ones I've ever done have been red. My Ace hardware sells them and the correct size just happens to be red. I've grown to like the red as opposed to the original white/gray. I didn't want to buy a bag of fifty on Amazon either.

You can put the swinging basket wherever you want obviously, but it usually goes in the lower position along with a non raised warming rack for a Genesis 1000. I installed a raised warming rack on my Genesis Gold and you have to put the swinging basket in the upper position or it will hit anything you have on the warming rack when you close the lid.

Thanks, kinda what I figured, but I did not know there was a raised warming rack. I thought they were all flat for this model, and why I was curious
Thanks!

While waiting on the manifold bracket, I’m going to knock out the manifold service tonight. Found a cover and the hanging warmer basket at good prices, but I’m holding off until
I’m closer to the end of this. Going to also get some help from my bride (she’s optimistic) to replicate the side serial number sticker. I found the threads on that, but was unable to download the templates. She has a new machine she bought for crafts and printing t/shirts and such.🤷‍♂️

Using my Chapman Manufacturing little gunsmithing screwdriver set. The screwdriver blades will fail before stripping out the screw head. Don’t want to mess this up!
Best-

I wonder if you could do them up nicely and sell them? I'd likely give up some $$ for a nicely remade sticker with serial number and other info.
