My first score of the new season

Steve that is a beauity, have done much to it or did it come like this.
It was in really nice shape when I got it. I didn't have to do any painting on it, except for the lid badge.I cleaned and waxed the frame and control panels and it pretty much looks brand new. So it was mostly some disassembly and cleaning everything.

You only live once and I finally got tired of having all my really nice grills hiding in the garage so I rolled this Genesis Gold out to the patio. I rolled the trusty Genesis 1000 to my hiding spot on the side of the house. Now I have a really nice grill to cook on and room to pick up some more grills if I want.IMG_20250525_135907615.jpgIMG_20250525_135951675.jpg

I see room for 3 more there…

Well, here's my proof that I actually cooked on this grill. It was just hamburgers, bratwurst, and hot dogs. @DanHoo wanted to know my thoughts on this vs. what I have been cooking on for the last 27 yrs., a Genesis 1000. The first thing I noticed was that the Gold heated up a lot faster, no surprise given the smaller size of the cook box. The second thing is that it runs hotter on, say medium, than the 1000 does. I was able to adjust to this on the fly and everything came out pretty close to the way I expected it to. I'm sure after a few more cooks I'll have it down pat. It was extremely pleasant to cook on a nice, shiny clean grill. I think I'll even put the cover on it to keep it a little cleaner.IMG_20250525_194915822.jpg
