Ending first:
There's nothing more American than bacon on the grill, right?
this thing was fully engulfed when I snapped the pic
Melty toasty goodness
You think I forgot the side dish?
So I did a little hiking today - man I am out of shape! Even after doing P90x again for the last >5 weeks..... this really gets me.
Here's the pup romping through some flowers: https://goo.gl/photos/rmG6pSrEPVW8RHzr9
A view from as high as I got (within 200' of the top): https://goo.gl/photos/1zANg73wqHrmYzn18
Her coming down a steep trail with 4 bandaged paws (oops - yes, I know, and yes I'll do better next time): https://goo.gl/photos/44pJns4n6veVvaoB6
Yesterday's hike - video from Wolverine Cirque. I haven't hiked for a little over 5 weeks, been doing p90x pretty regularly:

This is what we were going for - I haven't hit the top since the year before last. I took Roxy up there about a year ago (several months after I got her) a couple times - the first time the snow field was too deep, the 2nd time we lost the trail in the snow but were almost there when we got chased out by a lightning storm.
I tried carrying her a little ways down...and at 78 pounds the last I checked, I'm glad she was able to make it down slowly. I carried her where it was steepest (the whole thing is steeper than most would expect).
Not sure what I'll do - maybe she's just not cut out to be my big hiking buddy- I have to slow my runs down for her too...and I'm already out of shape.
I was really happy to make it down, now I'm nursing her (bag balm on the pads, bacon & dog food in the belly)
