Mr. Brown or Mustard and Rub?

Howdy all,

I've got two Butts going on Saturday night. I know I can't go wrong with either, but what recipe do you prefer?

I haven't done either, no help there. But if you're looking for a real good Butt rub, Try a Butt Rub for Jane it's very good rub.

I just can't help myself here; I did Mr Brown with 2 7# last weekend; they were good, the bark was exceptional...but put me in the the "mustard slather" camp.... I think you get a much better smoke ring, and the resulting smokier flavor... IMHO....

Either way, YOU are going to be the most popular guy around LOL
 
A 'smokier flavor' does not result from a better smokering. Smokerings have nothing whatever to do with smoke flavor. They are chemical reactions, nothing more.

Just sayin'...

slather doesn't do much for the smoke flavor, it does provide a sticky base for the rub. You get a nice bark. Bark will have flavor if you use a fancy slather.
