Mods complete!

Ok... after 2 weeks of ordering parts and working on this in my spare time I’m done!

Picked this 22” off if Craigslist for $125, figured I would mod it up with the money I saved.

Did the hinge, temp gauge, Cajun bandit door and ATC mount, body clamps, handles, wheels, probe port , expanded metal in on the grate, drilled a port for my ATC and a new cover.

Nice! What I would do too. Maybe run a few support bars between the legs to keep it strong if u plan on moving it around a lot. Btw awesome

Great suggestion, they seem pretty sturdy but it definitely wouldn’t hurt.

My apologies for not being clear. Do these clamps make a difference in terms of reducing leakage of smoke (aka make a tighter fit)? Just wondering the primary purpose of the clamp mod? Sorry for the dumb question

I haven’t cooked on it yet, but I have them adjusted so it doesn’t put much pull, just basically holds it there right in place.

The primary purpose for me is so I can grab it by the handle and wheel it around without the barrel falling apart.

Keep the pieces together. That is the main reason. Sealing smoke in not so important and i would not tighten too much. Nicely done and thanks for the info too.

Here is a link to it, although I’m not really impressed with it the magnet isn’t very strong and it swings out easy when not in use.

I’m actually going to remove it because I bought a ThermoWorks signals system with billows , going to put a magnetic shelf in its place to hold the new unit.
