My new 2009 wsm showed up yesterday, finally, direct from weber. I didn't realize it would be on the porch when i got home, but there it was. The box was large enough that I thought they inadvertently sent me a 22 but it was correct, a new 18.5. I followed Bryan S. advice on putting it together and had no issues. It is sitting in my house and is really a very nice smoker. Not sure what took me so long to get one, but i finally have it. Now I need to figure out how to use it and what to cook. I've participated in this site for a couple of yrs, using other brands of smokers so this will be my first WSM cook. My wife is ready for something different than pork butt, so I'm not sure what to smoke other than maybe a high temp brisket. I'd rather test it out doing a low/slow so i'll need to think about it.
I will be using RO lump charwood as my fuel so i'll need to figure out how to manage that difference vs. Kingsford relative to vent and temp control.
I could try ribs...always a good choice.
