Last week during a cook my Maverick transmitter leaned against my WSM and melted. The grate probe is toast but the meat probe still works. Maverick said they can sell me a new transmitter for $20 and a probe for $12. I think I can buy a whole new set for $40. Should I cut my losses and just order a new set? I am getting ready to install a Tel-tru in the lid so next time I have a backup in case something like this happens again. One note for people with the Maverick is that it only took a minute with the WSM at 300 degrees to cook my transmitter. I was in the process of checking my new wind break and didn't even make it back inside before it died.
