got this for $35 on an Amazon Lightening deal in 2020. it does go on sale frequently from past experience. it works very well. hand wash only. freeze for 30 minutes before use to keep a cold working environment. and 1/8 turn back off the locking nut ring that keeps the cutting plate in place to avoid over pressure on the plate and potential for metal shavings in your food. let your protein provide the pressure to the plate and nut.
It’ll do 10# beef easily, double grind.I have this one also. Works well for me.
Really? It doesn't start getting the grind chamber hot to where the beef fat starts to melt and get a little "gooey"?It’ll do 10# beef easily, double grind.
My meat is partially frozen and I freeze the metal grinder and parts for an hour prior to using. No smearing.Really? It doesn't start getting the grind chamber hot to where the beef fat starts to melt and get a little "gooey"?
I do the same with my old Hobart grinder but it's pretty much useless pretty quicklyMy meat is partially frozen and I freeze the metal grinder and parts for an hour prior to using. No smearing.
But if you use it warm and your meat isn’t cold, you’ll have smearing.
Bet you’ve never seen a Boston Terrier devour a live chicken. Sad but true. Feisty terriers.I have the same one as Brett also and it works good.
I think having a stand alone grinder would be really cool but not necessary because the KA works well enough for me.
My money and minimal space would be better spent on on a real vacuum sealer or sausage stuffer.
Richard I really like your dog food idea.
Can you go into a little detail on what you do or want to do?
A couple years ago my wife was on the phone with her cousin and her cousin (a traveling Canadian Arctic nurse) said “hold on a second I have to toss my dog a fish”.
The wife was surprised at that statement and asked her about it.
She replied what else am I going to feed the dog.
Apparently Huskies do just fine on a salmon diet.
Exactly!Terriers are like the honey badgers and they don’t give a….
LooksResurrecting this. I'm gonna be having a bunch of beef trimmings coming up for grinding. A bag from the last brisket I did, a bunch from trimming the rib primal I bought the other day, and a bunch more coming up from the brisket I will be buying today for this coming weekend large gathering at my house Saturday. (celebrating my 74th from last Friday, my daughter and son in law's 9th and wife's and mine 40th coming up on Sunday.
So I ordered this attachment for the KitchenAid https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0CH2S8GB1?tag=tvwb-20
The old all metal Hobart I got from my mom is pretty well worn out and I cannot get a new "knife" for it. So I ordered a new one. Hopefully this new stainless steel one does a good job. No worries about power from the KitchenAid since we have the 1.3HP 8qt Commercial
lmk how this new SS goes for you. i've been happy with the aluminum one so far. and we always hand wash my cooking tools (knives, accessories, parts and stuffs). the dishwasher is for plates and regular stuff.I just didn't like the idea of aluminum. Which is why I was looking for SS. My Hobart is aluminum. And quite honestly it's a bone of contention for me. Mostly because of aesthetics
what model hobie? or is it the blade is dull and no sharpener? The old all metal Hobart I got from my mom is pretty well worn out and I cannot get a new "knife" for it.
