Marble? Or Granite? Will it work outside and cutting it... ???

I've used an angle grinder with a diamond blade to cut flagstone also which the marble would be easier it should be softer.
You would get a better finished cut with a circ saw and a straight edge.
I would have a helper use a shop vac with a hepa filter. Water does work but it makes a mess of the tool.

I got a second quote for $268.

the saw I might buy is this one for $20. Looks double insulated and is only a few minutes away.

I'd rather not risk mine. I've had it a long time and was a gift from my Dad.

Do yourself a favor and do this on a GFCI-protected circuit. Water and electricity don't play well together.

I agree with you Tim on the flagstone its not that important since your not looking for a perfect edge on the projects I have done. Just pointing out it will work but I would do exactly what you suggested.

Ok, change of plans. I'm not going to cut the marble.

I'll use the marble 30w by 26 deep. I won't use the side tables or side burner. it will just be a prep table with some storage that I'll try to make fairly water tight to hold small bins of smoke wood and chips. I may cut down the cabinet to the exact height I want and finish the area in the front where the control panel is and the back with some wood to keep the larger critters out.

I won't feel bad about trashing the cabinet because, it's already trashed.
