Well my efforts for the past 12 days has paid off. First bacon attempt and I am quite pleased. This BBQ hobby is like a drug. First you start with steaks and charcoal. Then move up to ribs for 5 hours. From there your up to 12 hours for pulled pork. But you still need more. So to take it higher, you now have to move up to a 10 day cure and another couple for smoking and packaging. It's a drug I tell you!
Back to the bacon. Here we are just dropped onto the grate.
Finished product. I really miscalculated cook time. Chris's tutorial looked like he was done in 3 hours at 200* at the dome. I ran 200* at the grate (150* on dome) and took 8 hours. Finished up at midnight
After a night in the fridge, slice up and ready to fry
I'll have some eggs with that!
All packaged up. Ended up with 15 pkgs in 14oz packs.
Now, what to do for my next fix. Soueey.....Pork Belly!
