Looked what I picked up today.

I found this 2007 Performer at a pawn shop today. They were asking $137.75. It had a bent handle on the lid and the lid under the handle was pushed in a little. I offered $85 and they took it. Here are some pictures of before cleaning and after.




I may pick up another lid but it still works and sits on the bowl just fine. Bowl is in perfect shape as is the rest of the grill. Gas assist and igniter and works fine. It even had the charcoal baskets with it and the cooking grate was in great shape with no rust. The one touch cleaning system was also rust free and worked fine. I didn't need another grill but couldn't pass up the deal.

Thanks guys. I don't know what I will cook. I have a total of 13 weber grills so I'm not a newby to Weber. Whatever I cook next on a grill, I will be using this new one.

A guy on another Weber forum gave me a tip on taking the dent out of the lid and it worked very well. He said to put the lid upside down on the open end of a 5 gallon bucket and push the dent out. It popped the dent almost completely out. I straightened the handle up as much as I could, painted the places on the handle where the porcelain and put a handle off of one of my Weber chimney's on it. I will just keep the lid instead of trying to get a new one. Now I just need to finish painting the charcoal bowl handle and get some new rollers for the lid holder and I should be good.

I did the first cook on it tonight and cooked some boneless pork chops which turned out very good. Very happy with this grill, especially for the price.

Thank you everyone. I did finally go buy the correct handle for the lid so I could put the handle back on my Weber Chimney. I also bought a new igniter system since this one works a little funny sometimes. One time it will light on the first press of the button and sometimes it takes about five times. I will wait until it doesn't work at all before replacing it. I also installed the new SS flip up grate that I just got from Weber in it. I had it in my Mastertouch but switched the grates out. My 95 Performer has a SS grate in it and still no rust after four years. Well worth the money IMO.
