The weather is supposed to be sunny and mid-70's this weekend (unheard of in Seattle)
My wife (who I love dearly) is gone from Friday morning to Sunday evening
3lb belly curing in the fridge
5 lbs of back ribs slow-thawing the in fridge
4 lb pork shoulder roast thawing next to the ribs
Costco Prime Rib Steaks thawing next to the roast
Fresh batch of homemade rub courtesy of a trip to Market Spice at Pike Place Market
A full bottle of Sweet Baby Rays
New Maverick ET-732 ready for use
Fresh 18 lb bag of Kingsford Competition for the WSM
Newly constructed "Grill Gazebo"
Full tank of propane for the Genesis
A half dozen bottles of Guinness and a bottle of Makers Mark.

Steaks, bacon, ribs, pulled pork, sunshine, Guinness and sippin' whiskey. Ahhhhhh.... Life is good!

Yes, I know 6 bottles of Guinness seems a bit light, but I'm not a serious beer drinker. On a sunny afternoon, a cold beer followed by a three fingers of sippin' whiskey and I'm good to go. I tell my kids I got all that partying and drinking out of my system in the 70's and early 80's. Now I just enjoy the occasional sip every now and then. Of course, In Washington, in a few short months I'll also be able to legally enjoy another form of "smoking" . Like I said.... life is good!

The only way that could get any better is if you move the smoker to the beach just before sundown
and have a little bonfire going as it gets dark. With the great smells coming from the WSM you will
find friends that you didn't know you had for sure.

Sounds like a great weekend plan...gotta add a few dungeness and oysters to your steak and you'll be all set! I bet Pikes is fully stocked about now!

Enjoy the weekend!!
