Hey Guys, thought I'd share my latest resto.

WEBER GENESIS JUNIOR!! Managed to find this little gem all the way down here in Melbourne, Australia.

I got this around a year ago, it was missing a few parts though. It took a little while but I managed to get all original parts to make it complete.

It's a 1991 model and I believe these little rare gems were only produced for 3 years!!

Works done:
- Frame rubbed to bare metal, primed and painted
- Firebox sandblasted inside and out and painted
- Lid End caps sandblasted inside and out and painted
- All other metal bits sanded and painted (timber frame ends, gas bottle gauge and holder, manifold)
- List goes on ha ha

Here's some before and afters.

Impressive. I’d argue that a person who does that is able to restore other things. Attention to detail, meticulous. I hate the word “curator” but I could see it in this work.

The sandblasting truly makes a difference. I’m going to start experimenting with that.

Beautiful work! I think its interesting that your grill doesn't appear to have the crossover ignition switch on the control panel like we do here. Do you just light it with a match, or am I missing something from the pictures?

G'day mate, Cheers for the feedback!! To be honest no I have never been in to restoration work prior to working on these. I am a kettle collector which started my fascination (obsession) with the Genesis models.

Yep sandblasting makes a huge difference. I always get the fireboxes and lid end caps blasted

Cheers for the feedback mate. Yep the ignitor is on the front panel along with the Crosscheck button which is like a safety switch.

This Jnr I believe was intended for the European market as I sent the Serial number to Weber America and this is what that believe

Great job and beautiful collection. Do you cook on them out of curiosity?
G'day mate, appreciate the feedback. To be honest they are just eye candy to me once they are completed ha ha.

This is my recent pick up which I use when I want to cook on gas

Cheers for the feedback everyone, makes the effort and hardwork worth while!! I actually find the process relaxing and rewarding.

The GEN2 and GEN3 pictured are both coincidentally 1988 models. They have both had the full treatment as the Jnr. Unfortunately these older Genesis models are becoming harder to find here in Australia. I've been hunting high and low for a GEN5 or 5000 (grail item) but no luck as yet.

My next project is about to be pulled down and heading to the sandblasters 😁 I may need some parts though, so I might have to reach out

Great job Mark in restoring the Genny Jr. I found one over a year ago but have not restored it yet. When I do I would like to get a cover like yours. Where did you get yours?
