Thanks for the tip, Chris!

This is the stuff if you want fast, high heat. Transformed my CharQ into a great little grill. For low and slow BBQ my vote would be for Weber briquettes. I do know, however, there are other excellent - and maybe bettter - choices.

It will be awhile until I can take advantage of these type of deals. I still have 30+ bags of Weber briquettes. Haven't finished my first bag yet. Doing my second cook on the WSM.

Glad that worked out for you Jon yes its fast, high heat I used it for my smoker for years but I never noticed how fast it burned since the charcoal basket is very large so never had to worry about it until I started using it in the performer for my wings which take 1 and 1/2 hours. Could not get thru the 1 and 1/2 hours without adding a bit more which was a pain. I used the Weber charcoal for the first time last weekend for wings, yes it take a bit longer to light but no issues having to reload.

Bill, you have more bags than I do. On my first one with 20 left to go. :)

I don't have any experience with KBB. How much longer does it take to light the Weber charcoal? I've found that the charcoal lights pretty easily using the chimney. I just wad a big thing of newspaper and light it. About 10-15 minutes later, the charcoal is ready. I probably should time it for real instead of guesstimating.

Its a bit longer Bill to light not anything to worry about and maybe its my imagination. I use a chimney also using the performer gas assist to get it started so I don't need the newspaper which works fine.
