kingsford got wet, will it be ok?

I bought several bags of kingsford for mem day at HD when on sale. I put them in a plastic garbage bag and in my shed. I opened a bag the other day for a cook and was surprised, the bottom of the kingsford bag was wet and the rest felt damp. Apparently, during a heavy rain, water flooded the shed and somehow went thru the plastic bag, wetting the charcoal.

can the bags be dried out and the charcoal burn fine or not likely?
 
hard to say. might just be light moisture. i've had bags outside and they felt damp but the briq were ok. i would take them out and see. the "wet" ones will just crumble.
 
I've had bad luck with wet K and also when left outside with high humidity (I'm in GA). I had a hard time getting to temp on the WSM and consistently staying there.

I just found 3 bags at our family's lakehouse that were stored outside and definetly got humid. I used 1/2 a bag last night for grilling, and they were fine. I think the high heat in the chimney dries it out a little bit. Definetly won't be using any of the rest in the WSM, just the grill.
 
Whenever my charcoal gets wet, I usually toss them in with new, dry charcoal at about a 1:2 ratio (wet:dry). So far, no issues as they seem to cook fine.
 
In my experience, once K gets wet, even after a long drying, it doesn't quite burn right.

I use it in the chimney or for grilling but not in the WSM.
