Speaking of red lids. Has anyone ever seen a red one from the later Genesis Silver/Gold series where it had the rounded front top and the thermometer in the middle of the lid?
 
I haven’t seen a red hood like that. Apparently there is some toxic chemical issue with making the original red color. I don’t know but am guessing they had to discontinue about that time. Seems like they can make the darker “crimson” available on the Genesis II and on kettles, at least not too long ago. Otherwise it is the orangey red like in the Spirit that Chris in GA commented about. The botched “Limited Edition” red kettle was farmed out to China - maybe to get around this apparent chemical issue, but the red they came up with was certainly lacking and not like the candy apple 🍎 red my old original red kettle has.

Those screws on the left side are NOT supposed to be removed. It's even in the instruction book, Though I know no one looks LOL
