Had my local butcher cut some 1” center cut bone in pork chops for me today. Chops
were hit with some olive oil and then seasoned with Penzeys 33rd & Galena.
Decided to take Mr. Lampe’s advice and grilled some cauliflower. The cauliflower was
hit with some olive oil and seasoned with Penzeys Tuscan Sunset. Mushrooms were seasoned
with Penzeys Adobo seasoning and put in a CI skillet with some butter.
Cauliflower and mushrooms onto the grill.
Chops were given a quick sear on both sides.
Chops then moved indirect and the mushroom moved to direct heat. Dang, I need a 26” Weber
and I do have a spot on my makeshift BBQ area for another grill or several.
(When
I joined this board back in December I had a 22” silver and a Smokey Joe. Now I own a 18” WSM
and picked up my Performer off of Craigslist.)
Mushrooms off the grill and placed in the oven on warm.
Pork chops were glazed with some homemade BBQ sauce and then removed from the grill at
140 internal temp.
Cauliflower done and off the grill.
Plated with some Spanish style saffron rice.
Great dinner and I got to admit that Mr. Lampe was correct about the grilled cauliflower.
It was really delicious and even my wife who doesn’t like cooked cauliflower liked it very much.
So for all the newer members out there my recommendation is that if Mr. Lampe says its good, it is good!
I have personally found that food I would not normally eat cooked on the stove (sprouts, cauliflower, carrots, etc)
when cooked on the grill makes a world of difference. If you haven't tried it, try it!
Thanks for looking!
