Just need to VENT!!! - WalMart

Last night I was reminded of why I HATE going to WalMart. I went to the WalMart in Fontana, CA off the 15 at Foothill, to see if they had any Royal Oak Lump. The WalMart near my house didn't have any but I was up that way dropping off my niece at Grandma's house so I figured I'd check it out. They had the charcoal and I picked up a few bags. But thats not the point of my rant. Just getting in and out of there was a nightmare. People had their cars parked in non-parking areas in the parking lot which made navigating through there a disaster. Carts scattered all over the place. And once you get in the store its like WalMart has gotten too big and too successful for their own good. They just don't care anymore. The store was just a mess and of course the "clientele" wasn't too much better. And the employees?? - talk about "below average". No offense to anyone who works there or knows someone who does. They're not all bad...just the ones that help me are. HAHAHAH!!! As far as I know they are my only option for RO here in SoCal. Oh well - just had to get that off my chest. I'm sure some of you have had similar issues with Wally World. Maybe one day Royal Oak will strike up a deal with Target, or Home Depot, or Lowes... ANYBODY . I don't care. I just need another option besides WalMArt.

Well I won't say anything on this subject because I would be escorted of the premises ASAP,but I know what you mean.If I go to Wallyworld or anyplace like that,I park close to the garden center because thats where most of what I want is found and I can eliminate the main flow, which as you said, makes me ..... errrr..

Russ,

Here's my dumb Walmart experience. Last year when Kingsford put out those downloadable $6 off coupons I printed one out on my laser printer and took it to Walmart. The cashier wasn't sure about the coupon for reasons I don't understand, so he called over the manager. The manager told me that they didn't take xeroxes of coupons. I explained that it wasn't a xerox, it was an internet coupon that was printed on a black and white printer. And besides, not taking xeroxes is for newspaper and other preprinted coupons where there's a finite amount of coupons in existence. A copy of an internet coupon is no different than a printout of an internet coupon (unless there is a limit to the number you can print, in which case there would be an identifying bar code).

In any event, it wasn't a copy it was a printout. But he explained to me that they pay him to use his judgement and his judgement was that it was a xerox but, out of the goodness of his heart, he'd allow me to use the coupon even though I was clearly a con artist (my words not his).

After that, I printed the coupons on my color printer and brought them to Walmart at least a dozen times and they weren't questioned once. I would have preferred to use the laser printer because the ink is cheaper and doesn't need to be changed nearly as often.

If that guy was the cream of the crop and rose up the ranks to manager, then there's something really wrong with the way Walmart moves people up, because he was clearly not qualified for the job of Walmart manager.

I checked the Kmart near my house (which is now a Sears since the two companies merged a few years ago) and it was a complete bust. Not only did they not have the lump - they barely had any charcoal at all. All they had was about 8 or 10 bags of blue K and it was the small bags. Disaster.

Just go to Lowe's and get some Stubbs Charcoal. IT's great stuff, and right now it's on sale for $5.00 a 15 pound bag. Hurry. :)
