OK- so the last couple of days in my quest for a WSM 18.5" the Weber Q bit me and I jumped on a Q100 with cart and a couple tanks for $75. Seems a bit high but the KC area does seem to trend a little high. I also picked up a cover and the attachment hose from HD. The trouble is, I brushed down the burner since ehte initial burn showed it had a few dead spots on the burner. I also tooled the holes and realized they were blocked something fierce and did a few subsequent burns. I must be low on LP (though it does feel like there is some left in the tank) because after retooling the burner sputtered and then doesn't light.
I'm thinking I'll refill the LP and turn it on again. IF still nothing then I'll cola soak it. if that doesn't help then I'm replacing the burner.
However, I do seem to think that manifold has a little bit of play and seems to some stress when using the larger green bottles of propane(must be why they use a ring support method that this ones seems to lack). But I would think the hose doest apply any downward stress on the manifold and therefore shouldn't affect the burner. I'll let everyone know how I make out with my first couple steps to trouble-shoot.
I suppose the up-side to soaking the burner is I could then do a deeper clean f the bottom bowl…
