Hi gang,
Just joined the board - looks like a great place.

Got my 1st Weber, a Smokey Joe, a couple months ago. It was like new for $10.
Picked up a 1980 kettle 2 days ago for the same price. In good shape except the
leg brackets were rotten. Bolted some metal patches in last night and will mount
the brackets and legs tonight. Not a beauty queen but it ought to last a good 10
years, since everything else is solid as can be. It is amazing at how these things
hold up. This one was stored outside w/ no cover yet looks great (well, besides my
ugly patching but it beats trashing the unit). Looking forward to firing it up in anger
tomorrow night....:)

As for me, I'm in my mid-50s and have been grilling since I was a kid. In central NY,
we get lots of cold and snow but I've been running my Aussie gasser every week for
almost 15 yrs....really looking forward to this Weber. The Aussie is a great grill but
I can already see it will be relegated to either really fast jobs or to when I cook in the
winter and don't want to freeze to cook!

Thanks for reading!
John

Welcome John I have been using my kettle about 18 years now, looking forward to your cooks

Howdy John! If your anything like the rest of us you'll be digging out your Weber when ever it snows.
