Wasn't sure where to post this, but if this isn't the right place, feel free to move it.
I recently got the Cajun Bandit 18.5" conversion kit for use with my Jumbo Joe. It works great with two exceptions.
First, the JJ's lid is tight. Normally, in a smoker, that's a good thing, but when it's so tight that you need to hold the middle section and pry the lid off, it's bound to be a problem.
Second (and somewhat related) is that because the rim of the lid goes over the middle, condensation drips off the rim, which makes a bit of a mess.
My first thought was to try to stretch the rim a little bit, but that would only make the second issue worse. That would necessarily be terrible, I'd just need to clean it up more often.
Now, I'm thinking that a better solution would be some kind of flange around the top of the middle section that would allow the lid to fit inside. The problem is that I have no idea what material could be used to do that.
Any ideas or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
