Ok, that's interesting. What's the difference in the cook boxes. I'll admit I'm no expert on Summit grills.

Well, cookbox size is the biggest difference. Not sure if the general design is any different between the 4 and 6 burner models.

I'll bet the D6 has an extra sear burner or smoke box burner on it.

Sure, but the general design is likely the same as the D4. Likely, Weber has quit making replacements for both models and simply has some stock of the D6 cook boxes still in inventory. Get 'em while you can.
