In the world of Guitars (especially acoustic geetars) we call this GAS - for Guitar Acquisition Syndrome. It means that two guitars are better than one and three are better than two. This could easily apply here...

Mandolin Acquisition Syndrome!
There is also a malady which afflicts photographers and fly fisherfolk...
It’s called “Gizmosis”
Defined as “The need to acquire each and every little gizmo the minute it hits the market!”
I suffer from a ton of these afflictions!
 
GAS and MAS are not curable, they merely go into remission.
From time to time the acquisition syndrome goes off on tangents and other chattels are brought to the front. Grills and outdoor entertainment equipment is a “reasonable” manifestation of the affliction. Especially since the outdoor dining equipment does also often require the gathering of musicians for broadening everyone’s fun!
 
You guys should see my boat collection. Currently its not as large as it has been. Fortunately I keep them all offsite in my boat shed. Wife doesn't see it so its all good!
