If money were not object...the ultimate Florida grill!

Yah, if money wasn't an issue, then that would be something to consider. The biggest issue with grills like that is not so much whether they will last, but whether or not the owners will maintain them. I am guessing that a guy who wants a nice shiney SS thing like that isn't always the type of guy that is going to dig in an scrape out grease and gunk, nor is he going to scrape burners off a couple times a year. He is going to do as little maintenance as possible and after 5 years, get rid of it because it just doesn't cook like it used to. This won't be everyone, but a lot of guys who have the money to spend $3k on a grill have the money to spend $3K on a grill every 5 years.

I say this partly after acquiring some of my grills over the years with scrapings and grease and forks and whatever piled up in the bottom of the cook box all the way to the bottom of the burners. Or burners rotted out to the point that there are 1" long x 1/4" gaps where the burner holes used to be. Or enough grease in the bottom of the cabinet to fill a gallon jug.

And this is where you come in Jon. This is your chance to get that $3000 all stainless grill for $50. The only problem would be finding replacement parts for it.

The ones like that are usually the grills I see in BBQ islands. I likey old Genesis but of I saw a high end one like that for cheap in the for sale listings like Bruce said I might be interested. Parts are available for them but they are not cheap. However if you could find one that didn't need much more than a good cleaning for cheap you could have a really good grill. The one you posted is in the league with things like Larry's Wolf.

I must live in the ozone layer. Who the heck could/would afford something like that? A guy can buy a new car for that price.

Bruce,
I am with you both on the insanity of a 5 figure grill and that the kind of people who buy them neglect and grow tired of them making them cheap cast offs maybe five or six years later. Besides the Lynx I picked up, I have ignored ads for Viking, DCS and other high end all stainless grills being disposed of for pennies on the dollar.

Jason,
You are right that parts for most of these grills ARE available, but the restoration cost can jump up quickly! For someone wanting this kind of excellence and usually a very large size, this could be a way to get one for way, way less. I bought the Lynx only with the idea of flipping it. I think I can, but there is a wide range of potential selling prices ranging from a home run to break-even and since there is little in the way of market prices to compare against I have little idea where I will ultimately land.

Jon nice grill, the rehab that my brother in law bought his Silver B from the seller, bought like the one in the pic. It was a nice area and nice house. It would have to cook exceptionally well for that money.
My local Firemagic dealer, the burners are solid stainless steel that are drilled. At these high prices yes they all have 316 steel hardware but the burners is where they differentiate.
New burners for these grills are brass or whatever they do need to be replaced to the tune of $300 or double that. Lynx is brass burners also. Firemagic is the only one i know with solid stainless steel burners.

Living in Kalamazoo and knowing some employees (past) from the place, I didn’t get the impression they were flying off the shelves or out the door. And at those prices, I’m not surprised!
I’m kind of surprised they’ve lasted as long as they have.

Timothy, It may just be that you don't have to sell a whole lot of those grill at $25k a pop to make enough profit to keep making/selling them.
