AbsolutelyThat is dirt cheap. The bone account for a portion of the weight, but still better than $19 a lb for plain Ribeyes.
And the roast looks great on a Christmas dinner table.

Even for my beloved blue, $100 is a bit steep (without better pics). But blue is getting harder to find… How long ago was it posted? And do grills typically go quick in that area? Here is what looks like a blue lid Silver B with R &L table retracts about two hours from me. Aside from the fact it's not free, $100 seems a bit steep but the immediate view of the condition seems good. Any thoughts? I wish the photo was better.View attachment 122909
I’d likely make a two hour round trip for that… I’d ask for more pics first. But that looks to have some potential! In South Dakota...

It's all about the lid on those, a messed up Skyline I can pick up anywhere.I’d likely make a two hour round trip for that… I’d ask for more pics first. But that looks to have some potential!
I have been searching Webers since May and I think I have seen one blue and it was really trashed. $100 is very high but I am going for it. It was listed at about 10am this morning. One prospect was a no-show that the husband lined up for 4:30pm. They gave the guy until 5pm and then the wife who listed it gave me the second shot at 5:15pm. I said yes and she agreed I could pick it up on Monday. She said she will send more photos for me this weekend and mark it pending. She also said it has spent most of it's life on a covered porch and I think it looks that way from the photo (but you never know till you get there. If it works out I'll start a new thread. Wish me luck Cody!Even for my beloved blue, $100 is a bit steep (without better pics). But blue is getting harder to find… How long ago was it posted? And do grills typically go quick in that area?
Thanks Bruce. I always liked the blue color lids but rarely see them except in photos. It's not a deep box x000 but with some luck and work I think it could be a sharp looking Silver B. Hopefully I'll have some good pics next week.Good luck Val.
https://www.facebook.com/share/1D6CQtWHC2/There was a black one that popped up in I Gilbert (I think) Illinois. From the only pic they posted it looked to be a fade free silver b specimen. I saw it, and got sent out (at work) shortly while viewing it. Never saw it againThe Silver B's with the right side flip up table are a little more attractive than the regular ones. This pretty nice green one is listed not too far from me although I'm still not excited about it enough to go get it. View attachment 122925https://www.facebook.com/share/1D6CQtWHC2/
The worst thing you can do is over pay for a grill because you like the color of the lid unless you're planning on keeping it for yourself. I've become pretty disciplined over the years so I won't overpay for anything and $50 is usually my limit there. Always look at the big grease tray, and if it's in bad shape tell the owner that it costs $50 for a new one. Rusty frame, warped cook boxes, faded lids and control panels are all bargaining chips if not perfect. There are good deals on really nice grills out there if you look and are patient. On one of my very early grill hunts I drove about 2 hours for a green lid Silver B with a right flip up table which I thought was really cool. It looked all shiny and nice in the photos. The owner wanted I think $150 which when I look back was really high but at the time it looked like a really nice personal grill. I got there and there was major frame rust on the left side that was hidden in the pictures. There was only one surface of the four sided channel steel left in one area. The guy dropped the price $30 but I passed. I'm hoping this blue one goes better.
That's ok, I certainly wasn't going to drive to Gilberts for a Silver B, and I hope you weren't going to either. There was a black one that popped up in I Gilbert (I think) Illinois. No reason you can't take the blue lid and stick it on an X000.Thanks Bruce. I always liked the blue color lids but rarely see them except in photos. It's not a deep box x000 but with some luck and work I think it could be a sharp looking Silver B. Hopefully I'll have some good pics next week.
Nope. But I always like to share the good ones I see that are out of my reach. That's ok, I certainly wasn't going to drive to Gilberts for a Silver B, and I hope you weren't going to either.![]()
What am I missing? There's a pretty clear shot of the doors in one of the pictures and they look ok to me.@Jon Tofte is this the crimson color you look for? It was posted at $550, quickly dropped to $450. Still $375 too much. Just curious if this is the color you long for?
Also of note, clearly trying to not show the doors.
