I will just leave this here

This side burner on this spirit does look as though it was made by weber and it seems to fit perfectly on this Spirit, but it is on the left side and I have never seen this specific model of side burner before. Is this a custom job or did Weber actually sell grills like this one. I am thinking it came off another Weber grill model and was put on this grill. But it looks like it is missing the diffuser as well.

I've seen a couple of those before, it's all factory.

I learn something every day on this site. Anyway, it looks like those burners don't use a standard diffuser like most do. That is interesting as well.
The first spirit I did it threw me for a loop. But they actually put out a very nice and even flame. My neighbor that bought it loves it. He said he got a good sized stock pot of water boiling in about 15-20 minutes. It’s also nice since the flame is recessed, it keeps it pretty well guarded from the wind.

Another pro for those is there’s a spring ring kinda thing that keeps the diffuser securely in place.

So I didn’t look at this closely (had a manifold fire) when I picked it from the curb on Father’s Day. Think I know why there was a gas leak. I will not be trying to recreate it now having found this.
