How long have you owned your WSM?

Just curious, since I can't find a local store that carries the unit, I went to youtube and watched Chris' feature on the unit. It was great. Very helpful. I have read one benefit to being able to pick one out is getting a good one the first time as some have said quality control is not great and sometimes the workmanship can vary. Not sure if that is true. It doesn't sound like anything has really changed on these units in many yrs though Chris says the pre 2000 handles were wood and post, plastic.

11 months, so this will be my 1st Smoke day

When I bought this one it was called the bullet.
Can't remember the year, maybe 3 years ago. The one before that had the wood handles and had for a few years but was stolen over night while sitting outside a cabin in a state park where my son had taken it to use it as a grill for dogs and burgers.

Just over 5 years on my 1st, which I ordered a day or 2 before I found this website, and 1 1/2 years on the 2nd.

Not quite long enough to know EXACTLY what I am doing, but just long enough to know what I am doing wrong!
Hey, good mistakes make for better BBQ.

Bought mine in January and I can relate with what Michele wrote. Still trying to master it but lovin every minute of it.

<STRIKE>I think it's nearly 5 years. (If there was a way to tell when messages in the archives were originally posted, I could be more accurate. But as far as I can see, they only show the month and day - but not the year - that they were posted.)</STRIKE>

It's 4 years and 5 months. (Chris told me how to fix the date problem.)

My wife bought me mine for my birthday last year so about 7 months now. It's been the best present I think I've ever received. It's literally the gift that keeps on giving.

I got my first one 2 years ago Memorial day weekend.
It had a wood handle, steel door, and steel legs.
Best $10 I have ever spent. [Garage sale steal!]
I have since added 2 more, and wll buy a fourth if I ever find another used one.
