I like old kettles...but wow. I have enough of a collector bug that I guess I can see if you get it bad enough and have deep enough pockets you will pay whatever it takes. There are some well-healed folks in Australia that go big for these old Webers along with our domestic fans. I will be content with my small collection of not-nearly-so-oldies. My fairly decent 1974 18" black kettle (The "49er") only set me back ten or fifteen bucks...Still would like to get an avocado someday.

Don't get me wrong, NOT ME! But I have bought some stuff most people would say was overpriced because of my collector bug. I just know my limits are WAY BELOW $3,550 kettles.
