Hi, I'm Dan, and I like smoke.

Quick and easy, right?

After struggling for years trying to find the best apparatus to appease my smoky palate, I recently discovered the WSM and it changed my life. I now have to take two showers a day: one in the morning, and one after getting a smoke started. My girlfriend sure does enjoy eating what I cook, but sure does hate how I smell after taking the time to get it started.

I work from home and the WSM gives me a great, relatively inexpensive opportunity to break the monotony of my daily routine as a software engineer.

Though BBQ is what I enjoy, I also have a pretty darn extensive collection of cast iron that gets used on the daily in my house. None of that non-stick coating crap at my house! Just sweat and tears, and lots of cooking.

That's all I've got. Just know I've been creeping you people in the forums for a really long time... today is the first day I've taken the time to start to contribute, instead of just consume.

Thanks!

Welcome to the forum Dan. Hope to see pics of your cooks. Do you use any of your CI grill? Congrats on that WSM.

Welcome Dan and congrats on the WSM. Looking forward to seeing some cooks and use that CI, I love ours.

Welcome Dan. I also smell like charcoal many days of the week. Use that CI on the grill, it opens up many options.

Welcome to the forum Dan!
Please relay to your girlfriend that good BBQ has many benefits and one of them is diggin' the body smoke smell...
it's also a major step in securing a stable and honest relationship... many folks do not know that. ;)

Keep On Smokin', Dude!

Good advice from Jim there:rolleyes:. Always glad to see a new Arizonian join the forum, it's a fun place. Starting to get warm in your part of the state up here it's nothing but windy but we get by.
Looking forward to some of your cooks, like Barb (wife) said we love our CI.

Wow, work at home and smoke at the same time. You're a lucky guy. I'm big on CI too and use it all the time. Oh yeah, welcome aboard!

Ahh thank you all for the warm welcome!

Here are a few wins from the last few weeks.
