Brett here from south central PA. As you can see from the title, I'm a Pittsburgh native, relocated to this quiet Amish country about 15 years ago.

I have a Genesis S-330 that's roughly 12 years old I'm in the process of restoring to as new condition. Maybe 5 or 6 years ago I contacted Weber about purchasing a new inner liner for the lid and they not only covered it under warranty, but sent a complete new lid...even the thermometer and badge! Now the screws holding the burner tubes to the fire box have rotted away and once again, Weber stepped up and sent me a new firebox under warranty. The bottom tray has rusted pretty bad so I bought a new one from an on line supplier. While I'm on a roll, might as well replace the burner tubes, heat deflectors, and flavorizer bars. The grill has had stainless flavorizer bars, I'm going to try a porcelain enamel set this time.

I'm a semi-retired communications systems specialist in the public safety sector, extra class amateur radio operator, and just beginning down the rabbit hole that is deep sky astrophotography.

I've been lurking here for a time and decided to join the group. Thanks for the wealth of information, ideas, and inspiration!

Hi Brett, Welcome.

I also own a couple of E-330s and I advise against porcelain enamel flavorizer bars. They just don't last as long as SS.

I bought a really good set last year but they have not been in stock for months.

I also bout the set below and they are pretty good, just not as thick. These are going on a grill I plan to sell this spring.

As far as the burner tubes, unless they are cracked I would just clean them up and cook on them.

And as Steve said, we love pics.

Hey, goStillers!
Ok, it’s pretty early for that but, my sister and her husband are ‘Burghers!
Personally, I would replace with new SS bars, the OEM enameled ones do not have a great track record but, what the heck, nothing ventured, nothing gained! Very cool that you were able to get replacement parts so easily! Sometimes it’s not so easy. My Genesis is an old (‘96) 1000 and I’m very happy to have it! Rich Dahl and Bruce held my hand through the refurbishment. I am amassing parts for a custom frame, a whole new rabbit hole! I haven’t done any welding since high school! I might see if my nephew is up for a project, we shall see.

Welcome to the forum. It sounds like you have had a very positive experience with your grill. If you are replacing parts on a "might as well" basis because you can, I would at least contemplate saving any old but still working parts in a box in the basement or something. The day may come that you need a part and can't find one online so readily anymore. Then you will have started down the rabbit hole of collecting extra grill parts as well.

Thanks for the welcome posts! To the "locals", I'm in Cumberland County, not too far from Carlisle.

@DanHoo The grill originally came with porcelain heat shields and stainless flavorizer bars. The heat shields have never been replaced and I had considered trying stainless but the original lasted so long I figured to stick with that. The flavorizer bars have been replaced a few times, always with stainless so this time I wanted to try something different. If they don't hold up or underperform, it's no big deal. This is the set I got. Amazon

I'll be sure to post before and after pictures.
