It does, although in most cases I would prefer to have an entirely new wheel.Nice white walls make a big difference in the finish product

Yeah, you don't have too many options left if you can't buy new wheels. Last time out I tried to recondition the wheels and it was just ok. I haven't tried painting them yet.Paint the entire wheel and then apply tape to the tread area
I think Josh tried to buy those and they sent him a completely different wheel than what's pictured.

That does look pretty good, that's the painted version?View attachment 106271Painted turned out good for me.
I have waxed and they turned out pretty good also.
I think I would try painting the tread as well, maybe the inside too to make it look even.Yes and id say my best result so far.
It might not, but I'll probably end up giving it a try on an old wheel just to see at some point. Ideally Weber will start selling these wheels again at a reasonable price, but I'm not going to hold my breath over it.I painted the inside and the outside but didn't think it would look good to paint the tread so I just scrub the tread clean.
I'm happy with how it turned out but I'm sure it would look good with the tread painted also
Just my personal opinion but I think it would look really good with your brand new white wallsIt might not, but I'll probably end up giving it a try on an old wheel just to see at some point. Being the perfectionist that I am, it's still a work in progress. I thought I had the design down perfectly but wanted to make them out of a more durable material. The problem with that is the pins now don't want to snap easily into the holes in the wheel. So now, I am playing around with the design of the pins so they snap into place easier without the possibility of breaking. It will definitely try my patience so I have to just walk away from it from time to time so I don't have a meltdown.Just my personal opinion but I think it would look really good with your brand new white walls
I can appreciate that and relate. Anything worth doing is worth doing right. I'm never in a hurry when it comes to stuff like this. I'll work at it until I'm satisfied even start over if I have to. I can always expect nice work out of you Steve and I'm excited to see your next restoration project.Being the perfectionist that I am, it's still a work in progress.
