As a new WSM owner, I want to do a low and slow cook for mothers day. We are celebrating on the Saturday before so everyone can attend. Since my son-in-law is Jewish, I will need to do a brisket but my daughters will still want pork so a Boston Butt will also be cooked. This will be my first major cook so I have a lot to prove. My first cook with two whole chickens went great. On both the Butt and brisket, I will use a rub, but I don't know if I need to inject. Also, what sides would go with these meets and any recipes for the sides would be great. I don't want my wife or older daughter to do any cooking since they are both mothers. I am thinking of cole slaw as one side but I don't have a good recipe. I loved my grandmothers cole slaw but she has been gone for over 40 years.
I will be doing a test cook of a full brisket and a butt this weekend to get used to the cook.
Any help will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks, Bob
