Help-in Middle of Cook-

Okay....In my haste to throw 4 butts on the smoker. I quickly made a rub and forgot (Helloooooo) the salt!!!
10 hours into the cook I realized this...took the butts off and re-rub them.

Question...Anyone make butts without salt and will that make them less flavorful and less moist. Please advise. THanks.

Just mix up some more rub with salt added and mix it in with the pork after you pull it.

Yes..I was planning on that. I just hope it tastes as good as usual as I am having a lot of guests.

I would never go thru the troubble of re rubbing them. Add salt when pulling like Al said!

They'll taste like pork.

I would have left them alone, but then again, I do as little work as possible. Each person can always add some salt at the table.

Just add it to the sauce. Should work out. Got a butt going now myself. First one in a long time.

I don't think I would go the sauce route. You can probably just get away with sprinkling it on before finishing.

Whoops, let me clarify that. I mix all the sauce in with the pork after I finish pulling. I don't use it as a condiment.
