Just became a member here and have already found lots of great info. I just purchased a WSM 18.5" from Lowes last weekend. Did a whole chicken on Sunday afternoon which turned out great however I know I have lots to learn. I already own a Weber Genesis e-310 and a Baby Q BBQ. I use the Genesis at my home and the Baby Q goes with me in the 5'th wheel RV. We are on the road for about 4 weeks in the summer. Getting the Weber Smoker seemed like the final piece to my Weber puzzle.
A friend of mine bought an electric smoker from BassProShop - he has done some good smokes with it. There was a review of the 14" WSM in an RV magazine that I get and after reading the review I was hooked on the Weber. I thought the small size might be nice for taking with me in the RV however none of the stores in my area seem to carry the 14" so I went with the 18.5". Might be just as well as I sometimes cook for a groups of 6 to 8 which might have been tight on the 14".
On Sunday I'm going to do ribs for 5. I'm going to use the basic rib recipe from this site - really looking forward to it.
I have a couple of questions which I'll post in the appropriate spot but for now hello from Ontario and thanks in advance for the help I'm sure I'll receive.
