Hello from Holland... yeah... all the way over there :-)

Hello everyone.... Matt in Michigan here.

Not really.... I'm am a export item :-).... I now live in Europe in The Netherlands.... but my heart and soul is still in Michigan.

I fire up one of my webers 9 out of 10 days... and in the summer it gets lit 2 times a day... for lunch and dinner.

Great web site, bulletin board.... finally a group of people that are just as crazy as I am about Weber'n :)

Again... big hello from across the pond.

Matt

Welcome to the forum Matt. This is a passionate bunch when it comes to Weber's and grilling.

Welcome Matt, looking forward to seeing some cooks soon. Don't forget to take lots of pics.

If I live in the MOST Bbq european country... Then it sucks here..... I'm Glad to be an American!
The average Dutch Barbecue'er breaks out a disposable $2 grill only 4-5 times a year.
And the junk that they put on the grill and still call it Barbecue.... Don't get me going on that.

If I have to skip a day and not barbecue on my weber then in 24 hours I have withdrawal symptoms and can't wait until I can fire up the coals again.

You're right Matt, unfortunately we don't have that great BBQ heritage that you have. The past five years however we grew a "real BBQ" (KCBS/WBQA style) community that's pretty active in the netherlands. We have 5 KCBS competitions (I think) and some more in Belgium, Germany and UK. You're always welcome over here for PP, brisket or ribs, you probably can teach me some neat tricks. If you send me a PM, I can bring you in contact with some "real" BBQ'ers in your area if you like. I'm situated in the middle East of the Netherlands (near to Nijmegen), where do you live (probably West: A'dam / R'dam?). During the KCBS BBQ Society Cook-Off competition in October 2015 I met Andy who is American as well but lives in Germany. Maybe it's nice for you to meet them sometime, they're not that far from the NLs.
