Hello all,

Been reading and asking questions for a while now. Was going to get a WSM in the Spring but was told that a certain store sometimes get rids of their inventory now to make room. So I figured couldn't hurt to take a spin around town. Sure enough I lucked out yesterday on a 18.5... This was the size I was going to get in the Spring. So now just got to get her together and get the first cook done!

You are going to LOVE your new WSM!! It's the best smoker available anywhere at any price!

The 18.5 is the best size, too. You can cook two 18 pound turkeys in it easily.

The best thing about it is the temperature stability. Once you get the vents set, it hold a stable temperature for the duration of the cook. I've done up to 14 hour cooks without having to do anything to the vents.

Also, be sure to try to high temperature method of cooking a turkey. You just leave the vents wide open. The turkey cooks at about 300 to 350 in about the same time as in the oven, with MUCH better flavor!
