Guys - hope everyone is doing well. I have not posted on this site since way back when I first got my 14.5 wsm (still alive and kicking!) in December 2014. Way back when Tony and Maribel only had a few hundred followers on instagram! I've since moved from Raleigh, NC to Metro Atlanta, got married and have a kid on the way!

So - I am thinking of getting a BGE.... probably not the words anyone on this site wants to hear! I know, but... I like its versatility.

Any thoughts (besides the price tag)?

I have been mulling between the BGE, a nice Weber Gas Grill (Spirit or Genesis), Weber Performer or Char Griller Acorn...

I have to be clear - no way I'm getting rid of the WSM 14.5 so I won't totally be going over to the dark side....
 
There's nothing wrong with the BGE, they're fine BBQ's. They don't float my boat, but that's OK. Do a google search on "man cave meals" that guy was my inspiration. He now signed on with BGE, and has taken down all his pre-BGE videos, and that was a huge disappointment for me. But because of that, I found this place, and I'm thrilled to be part of this forum.

Had a change of heart overnight. In 2-3 short years, I seem to have pledged my loyalty to Weber. I ordered a Performer Deluxe that will arrive Friday. This will be my third Weber in three years....WSM 14.5, Q100 and now Performer Deluxe. Hope my wife doesn't catch on!
 
Awesome! I too wanted a bge and had a huge change of heart and went with the 22 wsm. I do not regret my choice and look forward to many cooks on it. I have a performer as well and it is my go to grill. Congrats on the new additions!
 
I know you won't be sorry. The Performer, with gas assist, is the best grill ever made IMHO. Mine still looks and works like new after ten faithful years of service.

Hey mike.I would like to take one of each solved that problem. Lol I bet the green egg does a really good job and probably holds heat really good.and they look really nice to . have you looked at the prices on the attachments for the egg they are kind pricey. But ether way as long as you are bbq you are the winner.I'll be grilling chicken on my wsm to night Happy smoking and good eating
