Hatch & Habanero burgers

they were roasting some hatch chilies outside a grocery store so I got a small package and made some burgers!

I quartered & minced a habanero & each of these 1/4# patties got a 1/4 hab. Not much heat comes through but that might just be me.

I put the pre-roasted chilies on the foil to heat, you can see the minced hab in the patty :)

I pulled some enchilada sauce out of the pantry (I go through the cans periodically trying to make sure stuff doesn't get too old) a few days ago & put it in sight in the kitchen...and it was good with these!

I made these another time too :)

this one was today, normally I'd avoid the bbq sauce (HFCS) but ATK had it as a winner so I got some - it's pretty good, kind of like something you'd get at a fast food joint to dip your chicken fingers or nuggets in.

Those burgers look amazing. So you blackened your chilies but didn't peal the skin off? That's the worst part is pealing the skin off, if I can get out of doing that..... :)

yep - these were pre-roasted peppers sold in a clamshell plastic container, but when I do them, I don't bother peeling them unless it's a big easy piece. The bitter flavor of cucumber skins bothers me, but I've never noticed a bad flavor from roasted chile skins.
