Greetings Fellow TVWBB Members :wsm:

I wanted to smoke a 12 lb turkey before holidays and try a buttermilk / water / salt brine.Has anyone ever used buttermilk and if so how did it come out?

I searched turkey forums but could not find what I was looking for. I realize the turkey forums are closed but wanna practice since I'm hosting this year.

Buttermilk makes a great marinade for chicken and should work as a Mari-brine for turkey. I have a cookbook from Jim Tarantino where he touches on that (briefly) but favorably.
