Harry Soo contemplating retirement from YouTube.

Harry Soo is considering stopping making videos for YouTube.
Guess he figured it would be profitable once he hit 100k subscribers and it’s costing him to make the videos.
For some reason I just figured Harry was rich from his Slap yo Daddy empire.
Humble guy, I learned more from him than any other source when it comes to low and slow. I hope he keeps making videos.

Oh no! I just watched that video and I am surprised as well. I also figured he had all that sweet sweet BBQ money. But thinking of my own comp and BBQ party throwing experience, it always does end up costing me more than I bring in. I also thought YouTube was more lucrative but I was ignorant in that aspect also.

Harry's videos have been invaluable to me, so I will send him some dough through his patron site. I would have been doing before had I known the situation. Hopefully he continues, but if not it's a small little payback I can give for all the info and smiles over the years.

Thing I always liked about Harry is that he is a great cook but uses a WSM and wins against other guys with far more expensive equipment. He says "it's the pitmaster not the pit". I would like to see more videos of him at comps. I have to imagine the cost does add when he is shooting a video at home paying for all the meat.

From what I understand, and I could be way off base, is that he sends to videos off to get edited because he also has a full time job. That probably cuts into the youtube money somewhat. I enjoy the videos quite a bit. Some of the stuff I see on Youtube, that is profitable is so dumb it hurts my brain and they have millions of subscribers. My son will watch videos of people opening blind bags. The videos I watch are called "Dada shows" and are deemed boring.
