I see Reynolds is no longer making their handi vac sealing systems. With a hand pump to vacuum seal your leftover BBQ.

Does anyone else make a similar product ?

Any input on the quality etc would be appreciated.

Thanks

I am sorry that Reynolds is no longer making their bags. I really like the product. Ziploc makes a fairly good substitute. The manual pump is a piece of clever design and works very well. I have had no problems with the bags, although there are varying reports by users. See reviews on Amazon.com. As with Reynolds there are 1 qt. and 1 gal. bags. I think the bags are cheaper than the Reynolds bags. The pump and bags are available in all the grocery stores in our area (Vienna, VA). So far I have frozen steaks and vegetables from the garden.

Hope this is of some help.

Thanks for the info. I'm going to get a zip lock unit and give it a try.

Want to freeze some leftover pulled pork and chicken as well.

i really think that when companies do that to the consumers, the consumers should get their money back ten times over. i did find a few more boxes of bags at a dollar store a month or so ago. i won't but that junk again. just get a real vac machine and get it over with.

I've been using the reynolds system for a couple of months now. the last couple of bags have been a real drag to vac. I'd have to run it for literally minutes, constantly adjusting the pressure and positioning until it would start sucking. I was wondering if I didn't need to replace the batteries to increase the suction. I guess I won't need to bother figuring it out.
